Mmmm….waffles…. March 4, 2008
Late, I know, but nevertheless….
These were the Valentine’s Day waffles. You may not be able to tell, but the batter was pink (food coloring). I received this heart waffle maker from my Dad one of his last Christmases with us. He and mom both new that I wanted a waffle maker. He actually went out on his own and picked this one for me. Of course, mom got me the one I really wanted. But, I knew that I should keep the one that he got especially for me, and mom told me to as well.
Now I love it. Everytime I use it, it’s like a hug from my dad. And I get to tell the kids that we get these fun heart waffles because of Papa. And they think that’s pretty cool.

That picture looks amazing. Did you take it? Very nice…
I finally used my prize! I was saving it up for something I really loved, and lo and behold, I found this book on Amazon called the Cornbread Gospels. Over 200 ways to make cornbread. Isn’t that insane? I can’t wait to cook up a storm. Thank you. Oh, and there was enough left over to go towards ‘Switching to Mac’ which I’ll be doing next week when my new laptop arrives. Thanks again. Thought you’d like to know that you made my day
Anne Marie: I did! Thanks.
I was a little bummed at the strawberry shadow across the waffle, but this was the best of the 8 or so I took.
I’m so glad that you were able to use that for something you really wanted!!! I’ve been searching high and low for a really good cornbread recipe that is the right combination of moist and sweet, but not too sweet. I love the cornbread casserole with the creamed corn and Jiffy and such, but Bald Man isn’t thrilled with it. Burbank’s in Cinci used to have the best cornbread, but they switched to muffins last time I was there, and it wasn’t the same. Let me know if you find a good one!!!
I hope you enjoy the Mac. Bald Man switched a few years ago and I was dragged along with him, but I love it.
Thanks for letting me know what you spent it on! So glad that you enjoyed it.
Such a pretty picture. And that’s adorable! I need a waffle maker, haha!
Yum, those look amazing… No meat in those!!
Joy: Nope. No meat in chocolate, either. Or chai.
When will I see you again?!?! You totally got me hooked on those chai lattes. Yummmmm……
Liz: Thanks! They do come in handy when you’ve not a lot of time, but want to look like you put some effort into breakfast. Not as quick as Fruit Loops, but fairly easy nonetheless!
